His column has been brain dead a lot longer than that.
It's their trial run of the "Fairness Doctrine" filter.
Once they get it dialed in, it'll reportedly replace every one of Pat's sentences with a random Karl Marx quote.
Making it virtually indistinguishable from the editorial page, I suppose...
